Asda Brussel Sprouts

Description

British growing season for Brussels Sprouts is underway and the festive period is the busiest period for growers. A quarter of all annual sales take place during December. The small-buttoned and hardy Helemus variety is favoured by growers and consumers at Christmas time, according to Martin and William Haynes of WR Haynes. Sprouts have particularly strong health credentials: a rich source of vitamin C – a single sprout contains four times more vitamin C than an orange - and folic acid.
