About Want to buy British
Want to buy British has been set up by the organisers of British Food Fortnight, the national celebration of Britain's diverse and delicious food that takes place every Autumn. For further information about the national food promotion please see www.britishfoodfortnight.co.uk.
The products promoted on this site are made in Britain, primarily with British ingredients grown and produced in this country. However, we also include famous British brand names that in some cases are not made with British ingredients either because the ingredients are not available in the UK, e.g. oranges in marmalade, or they source ingredients from overseas and process them here. Many of these products have a history steeped in our national heritage and hence are included on this site for information with details of where their ingredients are from.
Although we try our best to collect the most up to date and accurate information about British food and drink stocked we are dependent on what we can find out from the supermarkets themselves and this is not always easy!
Please be aware that there are regional discrepancies in the products that supermarkets stock and though most of the products listed on this site will be found in your local supermarket there will be some that you may have to request from the supermarket manager.
Product information on the Want to buy British site is updated regularly to keep pace with seasonal variations and new product launches. If you spot inaccuracies please let us know so that we can improve our service.
Finally, and our apologies but we have to say this…we do not warrant and we exclude all liability in respect of the accuracy, completeness, fitness for purpose or legality of any information accessed via the website or otherwise communicated to you (by email, by hard copy printout from the website or otherwise).
